    Chile/Chili

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say, I hope there will be done something for Chile as well, as we did for Haiti. This is as worse as it was in Haiti. And I hear everywhere, there aren't that many people dead. Hello! Over 700. And a lot of people still missing! Besides, for me a humanlife is a humanlife! My best friend's boyfriend is from over there. Still waiting for news from his family.

I want to dedicate these few words to him:

The morning was rising, as the clouds were heading over

Trembling earth, don't let us die

You have the power, I know, we're really nothing

But I'll be grateful if I can see tomorrow, a new day in my life.

Please God, give us courage, strenght, spirit to fight,

and when it's time, I'll embrace you with love, as I'm ready to seek, and find you in the light.

Anyway, it's not much, it's just to say I'm thinking of them.

    Take care, everyone.

I concur with your thoughts.  Anytime a disaster of that kind of magnitude hits, lives and property are drastically affected and assitance need to be rendered.  Information is somewhat sketchy coming out of the area (as is the case with any situation like this) and the numbers with hopefully not get too large.  But the fact remains that lives are forever altered and they need aid to help them out.  Perhaps the world community and the music community can organize some kind of relief effort there.

Many prayers and thoughts go out to those in Haiti and Chile.

    Hello stitch (and everyone),

I am extremely sorry to hear not only of this latest tragic occurance to hit yet another nation, but I am also very sorry to hear that you know people in the effected regions.

As 'Done0812' said, there is very little information that's really able to be fully substantiated yet. All electricity supplies are down and this, in turn, means there's very little communication systems that are currently operational. No doubt, those that are operational are currently being overwhelmed by the priority communications that are required in order to help get the aid effort into full effect.

It's a very difficult thing for me to say 'try not to worry too much at the moment'. Indeed, it's an impossible thing to try and do in any situation like this. The main thing is to try and keep the hope and faith up within yourself, even if you find yourself fearing the worst. Do not forget that there were many stories of people from Haiti defying all odds of survival. Many of them even defied what science would deem as the 'odds'.

Many things will happen within this Universe that would have no 'possible' explanation or any apparent 'reason' for occuring. We cannot explain everything and we cannot control everything. The best we can do is try to cope with the situations when they do arrive. I refer back to what I said about the nations 'leaders' expendature on warfare and weaponary within my post about Haiti "Why?".

I've said before about how I believe that nature has much unspoken 'wisdom' within it. For circumstances such as this, it brings to mind birds... Starlings to be more specific.

You see, if you put some seed out for them on a regular basis (every day), you'll notice something quite fascinating. On the first day or two, there will be only a few. Then the days following that, there will be a massive increase in the numbers. Why? Because they act for one another, not just themselves. Once they know that there's a good feeding spot, they will inform the others. They have a natural instinct to help the entire 'flock' not just gorge themselves beyond their own requirements. The saying "Birds of a feather, flock together." is very much a poignant one.

With regards to extra money being raised for this latest disaster:

I have been wondering something about all of the Haiti charity songs. Although, I must admit I'm not certain as to how it worked with regards to the download sales. I would like to know if the all dominating iTunes corperation actually wavered their own fess/percentage cut of the sales of these record breaking song sales?

In this country, Gordon Brown wavered the Tax on them in order to allow for more of the money to be given to where it's needed most vitally. I wonder who I would have to ask to find out what iTunes did with the standard download fee that they charge for hosting the songs?

Anyway, that's kind of side-tracking from your current worries, sorry.

"You have the power, I know, we're really nothing"
I'm sure that the last part of this line isn't correct my friend. 'God' is not the government. To 'God' I'm pretty certain each of us would be far more than just a number, statistic or taxable commodity.

I do truly hope that those people you know of in the effected area are found to be safe and well. My thoughts are with them all as well as with all of the survivors.

Take care stitch (and everyone else who reads this).
    Much love.

    xXx

    P.S. http://www.redcross.org.uk/donatesection.asp?id=103135 <---- I can't find an international link very easily, but that's a UK based fund.

As before, I myself am going to have to wait a little while and see what I can afford to give, but I will try to donate to it.

    Hi Missed-Da-Woo1F and Done0812;

thank you for the kind words to them. He had some good news, his mum is still alive. But he doesn't know anything about the rest. And there is no food, no water.. lots of stealing. Hopefully he'll get to know something more soon. But one small step at a time, right.

When I wrote'you have the power', I didn't mean God. I meant the earth or nature. Nature rules, when it's wild (like the storm in Europe last Sunday), there's nothing we can do about it. So in comparising, we're small. Little drops in the universe. So that's what I meant really.

Anyway I don't know him that well; But I do care for situations like this and people who are affected by it.

I'm not sure for donations here in Belgium. I don't think they've woken up yet, to do something about it.But thank you Missed-Da-Woo1F for the link. I do think you're right about where the donations are going to. I'm convinced there's always money going to governments, instead of the people who need it. But we can't do, just nothing right. We have to keep believing, helping eachother.

Thanks guys, and take care everyone!

    Hello again stitch,

It is good news to hear of the guys mother, I hope for the same news to come through about the rest of his loved ones also.

Ah, I did consider the line was about the earth once I'd posted my reply, sorry. With what you say about how significant we all are in comparison to the Universe itself... Yes it's true, very easy to feel small and insigificant when comparing oursleve's to something so immensly powerful and great. Funny how some people still manage to consider themselves far greater than they really are. Perhaps those people don't ever consider the Universe in their calculations of themselve's.

I myself, still don't know how my money situation's going to work out just yet, to be in a definite position to donate. If I can, I will.

Yes indeed, the best way to achieve things, helping one another and encouraging one another. Far more good things are achieved that way. Shame that there's still so many people around that seem consumed by only helping themselves, regardless of others. Their choice though isn't it, perhaps they'll pay a different kind of price eventually... Who knows.

Anyway, I'll stop my theological ramble here.

Hope that things with you and all your loved ones are ok stitch.

    Take care all.

    Hi Missed-Da-woo1F,

it doesn' t matter how you interprete the text. It's just my point of view, how I wrote it.You don't have to say sorry for it. It's like with songs really, every one means someting different to someone else.

Yeah, you're right. There are people with great ego's. I don't know why. In the end we all die. It's not like they have the eternal life or anything. They're not better or less than anyone else. But hey, who are we to say so, right?

Take it easy with your money situation. From what I read from you, I know you'll do anything to help other people where possible. Hope it turns out well for you.

Anyway, I hope you and your family, friends..... are ok as well!

    Take care everyone.

    @Jorge:
I second stitch's message, in the respects that I am glad to hear that things with you and your family are all ok.
As for the creation of the thread, the kind-hearted stitch is responsible, I just came along and added my own ramblings to it.
Some of us may be a bit nutty, but that doesn't mean we don't care :)

I can imagine that Natalie is currently extremely distracted. Not only has she been getting the new Scars video sorted out, but it'd appear that she has been spending a lot of time preparing for the London marathon. I hope that you don't take her lack of response to you as a lack of interest in the afore mentioned cause... I'm sure that this isn't the case at all.

Incidentally, it would appear that iTunes did waver their standard fee for all the charity singles sold (obviously, as it should be)... At least, this is what I was informed of.

Anyway, keep the good going and stop the bad flowing!

Take care, best wishes and stay well all.
