Come To Life - New release date for UK

I've been really frustrated with what was going on with Natalie in the last few months. It's such a pity that UK radios did not pick up Want, as it's easily one of her better singles. I've put it on my facebook status and it got AMAZING response from my friends. ALL OF THEM loved it.

Anyway, I started digging and it was obvious for me that Nat's no loger with Island. She's not listed there, her VEVO channel on youtube was deleted, which basically means she's no longer associated with Universal Music. I checked sites of every company which was working with her to make this project work (that I knew of). I don't know how I missed that, but Egg Management informes that Come To Life will be releases in UK in April on Malabar Records. Seems Nat does want to do it her own way.

The albums all over Internet. It was released here in Poland few months ago and I got it. It's not her best work, so I hope she changes it a bit. Heard a rumour she's recording some songs with Ian Stanley. She needs to change this dreadful cover.

    I'm not over you, Imbruglia!

Hi, Not that I'll search the net to replicate your finding, but if Nat's left Universal/Island why would they allow this site to remain? particulary this forum? I've heard no such thing that they have part company. And if I'm being honest in my personal opinion I believe that every fan who wanted to buy Come To Life has bought it through friends, online stores which stocked it last year or probably illegally unfortuntely, which in my opinion isn't right. An artist releases music for everyone to enjoy but why should that be replicated and distributed for free? if it was meant to be free - it would be! I bought my Come To Life through a friend in Rome who bought one for herself also so I think its time this album was put to bed, even if it was released with new songs on it why would we want to buy it again? If anything it should be a totally new release. Come To Life has been and gone and its unfortunate it wasn't released in the UK but I feel the opportunity to do that has now passed.

I received an email from HMV the other day (I had pre-ordered CTL from them back in September or October last year) and it said the manufacturer was no longer manufacturing it, therefore this title will not be available on or at HMV Stores UK.

I'll try and find out what's happening and if I'm allowed to reveal some news I'll share it with you all.

There is only one solution to all this album rumor drama: Natalie informs her fans, herself.

     Karen, to answer your questions:

the domain has been registered under Natalie's name for several years now. I checked and it still is. It's probably the same with the server which hosts the site.

Island was not Natalie's label. It was only distributing CTL in UK, which now means she needs do to it on her own. EGG clearly states that she's releasing it on her own. She PROBABLY still has a distribution deal outside of UK.

I know that most of us, fans, already bought the album, but seriously... do you think there are a lot of us? CTL sold ridiculously small amount of copies. It's not like she has millions of fans around the world. She doesn't. She needs a good single to promote the album outside of her small fanbase. We were the only ones who knew the album is even released. I wouldn't mind repacking, though.

edit> I don't know what was going on with my Internet (maybe I was half-sleeping). Nat's still listed on Island's site and her Vevo profile is up and running. I'm glad she's releasing in April. It's much safer for her to release it in a quieter month (look ant CDTD).

This album is taking its sweet time coming to life lol. She and the record have such potential..  its such a shame. It's hard to beleive this record has been in production since 2006. In the same time fellow aussie Kylie has released an album, toured the world and now is releasing her 11th album in april.. when we hopefuly shoud finally see Natalie releasing hers.

Yeah you're right. Maybe things will get better when it's put out in the UK? All we can do is sit and wait. And keep hoping.

I hope that this promising news is true.Like other fans tho i think its a bit late to still be releasing this album.By now we should be moving on to the nxt one.Anyone who wants Come to life will already own it by now.

Natalie needs to change her management or record company or something. The music isnt being promoted properly. It all looked promising when Want started getting played. The album was on its way,and there was talk of a tour....But then nothing.Warm up gigs got postponed, the album went the same way (later to be cancelled) And all the time NOTHING from the website. No updates,no tweets,NOTHING.

We need to be kept better informed.Re the postponed gigs especially.Do we ask for refunds or just keep waiting? Us fans are getting pretty fed up by now.All we seem to do is wait and wait.

I didnt intend to moan when i started this post!

Re: Come To Life - New release date for UK

If Come To Life is in fact going to have an official UK release, then I'm glad for you Brits, but I tend to agree with Karen, most of us have then album & anyone who desperately wanted it could get it a number of ways. Other than allowing fans who've actually waited, or perhaps new recruits, I don't see much benifit from a UK release, it already sounds as though all you UK fans have imported it, so sales won't be helped!

I also don't see the point of a re-release with new songs, unless they were ones that almost made the album. I'm one of those people who don't buy singles unless it's really worth while, because it's effectively doubling up.

Does anyone know what Natalie's deal with Island ACTUALLY was?? I've only been a fan a couple of years, but from what I remember reading, Natalie wasn't happy with the whole Glorious release & the disagreements over it with her label, hence why she started her OWN label. This way she could produce what she wanted, when & how. I always thought being with Island meant she still had alot of creative control, but they'd help with distribution and $$$, almost like a second label. Is this correct???

If nothing else, I think CTL has been a big learning curve for Nat & her team. It certainly appears alot of the behind-the-scenes things need to be cleaned up, especially communication with fans. If Natalie isn't too technological, get someone else to do it!! I'm also a Kylie fan & we're all hanging out for her next album, there's lots of rumours about it's release date, if it's finished etc. Her recent tweets simply say she's hoping we enjoy it as much as her, that she's still working hard, that she's doing a photoshoot... Natalie should have fortnightly updates atleast, even if it's as simple as; "going to Australia for Xmas & a holiday, did a shoot at the Opera House, will run marathon for charity, been busy training for run..." just simple things like that let us know she's still alive!!!!!!!!!

I've always loved Natalie for her music & I won't let the underwhelming fan experience of "not much happening" change that. I hope she & her team have learnt alot from CTL and that her next release is as great as others & they're better prepared. Maybe she could tour for the hell of it & not tie it in with a release. More than anything, I hope someone from her team checks this board & can see what has disatisfyed us the most & take it into account. As fans we shouldn't run Nat's career, but as the music buyers, we also shouldn't be completely ignored.

Re: Come To Life - New release date for UK

You are correct. At first she wanted to release CTL with her own label, Malabar Records, but then Universal/Island records offered her a contract and she accepted it since there were some people with that label that helped her career in her Torn days.

We'll have to see about there rumors about a new edition of CTL in the UK.. But strangely enough in the releases section you can clearly see the date for the UK market 26/04/2010 ... we'll just have to wait and see..

The new version of CTL doesn't sound like a major release at all, especially that we have not heard any official word from her yet. This is so disappointing. Why can't she just form a new management team or go back to Anne Berrett?

    Thanks Haziebob :-)
Same date as can be found in the Release shedule on her website so that's positive.
Hoping for "Flirting" in there as well, and that's hoping for you not demanding (@ josh & all others).

Oh no wait I was going to ignore that.
case of the good old 404 error page not found.

It's a good thing she still brings it out. But I think it's gonna be the standard version, as mentioned on the 'releases' section. Just the 10 songs.

The release schedule listed on many websites are added by fans.. nothing is confirmed for any artists.. all dates are subjected to change. Nothing has been confirmed for CTL release yet. So, don't expect too much..
